Decree A Thing And It Shall Be Established!

When God spoke, whatever it is He imagined became. His spoken word brought forth a thing into existence. Scripture says He decreed a thing and it was established. He spoke over a dark formless mass and it responded by becoming what He purposed for it to be. "Let there be light and there was!" There's something powerfully commanding in what God speaks over. I'm reminded of the Roman centurion who approached Jesus to heal his servant who was ill in bed. Jesus was prepared to go to his home to pray for him, but the Centurion declined on grounds that he was unworthy to host Jesus in his home. "Just say the word and I know my servant will be healed!" he suggested. Jesus was astounded by his faith! The soldier a man of authority was familiar with delegating orders and so in the same way that his subordinates came and went as he commanded, he recognised the authority Jesus represented.

"Come unto me all you who are heavily laden and I will give you rest!" "Lazarus come forth!" "Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men" Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations" "Go and sin no more" "Go and wash in the pool of Siloam" Whoever Jesus commanded and invited experienced a revolutionary turn around in their circumstances. Their condition, their minds and their psyches relented to the life giving restorative nature of His word. They came as they were. Sinful lost and aimless, He healed them all, restored them all, and reached out to all. Jesus' Word resonates deep within the chambers of our hearts and souls.

We are spirit beings. "God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). On the inside of every human body is a human spirit. The real person, the one created in Gods image! "But there is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding" (Job 32:8). God communicates with us through our spirits, the spirit realm. Small wonder then that when we are disconnected from God, our lives are no longer in sync with our Creator. Soon enough spiritual malnourishment leads to all manner of sinful manifestations, things that give temporal and momentary appeasement. Distractions and addictions lead us further away from our spiritual connectivity with God our Father. Yet in His infinite mercy and grace He invites, He beckons and restores. The cross will forever stand as an infinite symbol of forgiveness and redemption and the broken body and shed blood of Jesus avail as emblems of love and salvation to all who are in need of a Saviour.

We are at a time in history where spiritual disconnect has never been so rife. With this disconnect comes a deception that propagates evil as good and good as evil. This is an abomination not only to all mankind but to God Himself. "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." (Isaiah 5:20) "Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent-- the LORD detests them both." (Proverbs 17:15) In the midst of all the evil deceit, God is unleashing His Holy Spirit in manifold witness. He promised that the mantle of His anointing will rest on those even more for those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for surely they will be filled. When God empowers and emboldens us through the anointing of His Spirit, we like Him are able to decree a thing and it shall be established!

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, the authority and power vested in us is from Him, and the Holy Spirit given as a Comforter, Counsellor and Enabler. Jesus advocated that greater things will we do in His Name. It is therefore imperative brethren for us to pick up the baton in running a race strong in steadfast tenacious perseverance by the laying on of hands, by the proclamations of our mouths, the witness and word of our testimonies in reversing the curse of sin and illuminating the deepest darkness with the Light of the world. The one who says come unto me, the one who says go and sin no more. None so liberating, releasing and redemptive!
