The Worth of a Woman Bible Study 8
Women, Be Encouraged
We all have times when we need to be encouraged; when we just need His word spoken into our
hearts to lift us up.
Living Bible Psalms 18:1-3 “Lord, how I love you! For you have done such tremendous things for me.
The Lord is my fort where I can enter and be safe; no one can follow me in and slay me. He is a rugged
mountain where I hide; He is my Savior, a rock where none can reach me, and a tower of safety. He is
my shield. (This is my favorite part).. He is like the strong horn of a mighty fighting bull.
All I need to do is cry to him–oh praise the Lord–and I am saved from all my enemies! Vs 28 -33 You have turned on my
light! The Lord my God has made my darkness turn to light. Now in your strength I can scale any wall..What a God He
is! How perfect in every way! All his promises prove true. He is a shield for everyone who hides behind him. For who is
God except our Lord? Who but He is a rock? He fills me with strength and protects me wherever I go. He gives me the
surefootedness of a mountain goat upon the crags. He leads me safely along the top of the
cliffs.”
I am a changed person when I sharpen my focus to believe the Bible was written for me! Ps. 20:4: “May He grant you
your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.”
II Kings 19:27 “ I know everything about you, all your plans and where you are going next.” As Women of Worth, we all
want God to bless our lives and give us direction in living. Be encouraged that God wants you to have a blessed and
fruitful life more than you do! We serve an awesome God who closely watches everything we do. Psalm 37:23-24: “The
steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take. If they fall it isn’t fatal, for the Lord
holds them with His hand.”
I run to the Rock; He is my shield and tower of safety..He is like the strong horn of a mighty fighting bull..He turns on my
light..He gives me strength to scale any wall..He is perfect in every way and all His promises are true..He fills me with
strength and protects me wherever I go..He gives me hinds’ feet and sets me secure on the heights. What do I want
from God’s Word? I want all He wants to give me (every word)!
Ps 19:7 “The law (word) of the Lord is perfect reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure” ..the law or the Word
of the Lord are his instructions, guidelines and they are flawless, complete and trustworthy in every way bringing a
newness in our soul and spirit. What God says is the way it is.
Vs 8 “The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart, the commandment of the Lord is pure enlightening the
eyes.” All of the statutes /commandments and requirements of the Lord give you a lighter heart and will provide a
radiant light to your spirit eyes. His Word provides a light in our path. Vs 10 “More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.” Vs 14 “Let the words of my mouth and
the meditation of my heart be acceptable in they sight, O Lord my rock and my redeemer.” What do I want from God’s
Word? I want everything He has promised in these verses! I go to the Bible for Him to revive my soul, instruct me,
direct, counsel, comfort, convict, stabilize and encourage me! God’s word is better than gold, even fine gold!
No one is perfect; we would like to live our life without regrets but we all have them. What do we do with our guilt; the
things from the past that tries to haunt us in our present life? Ps 32:1 “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.” What happiness in knowing our sins are carried away, covered by the blood and cancelled from
the ledger. The more we read, the more we appreciate what God has done for us. We all rationalize with “everybody
does it;” we neutralize the sting of the past; we minimize as “it’s not so bad”; and it is so easy to compromise. The
person who refuses to admit their mistakes can never be successful. But if you confess , admit and forsake your sin then
you get another chance. Don’t blame others, we can so readily accuse our own brothers (Ps 50:20) and find fault with
them. We try to pass the buck, make accusations to balance our own guilt. Or sometimes, we go to the other extreme
and never stop beating up on our selves. Stop beating the horse that’s been dead a long time! Women, when God
forgives you, forgive yourself, and take encouragement that God has a good life for you now. Go with Him! Ps 18:46
“The Lord lives; and blessed by my rock and exalted be the God of my salvation.” It is a good thing to give thanks unto
the Lord and to sing praise to the Lord most high! To declare His loving kindness in the morning and His faithfulness at
night.
Edgar Guest says: “Stop talking about something and do it! I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day. I’d rather
one would walk with me than merely show me the way. I may misunderstand you and the high advice you give; but
there’s no misunderstanding of how you act and how you live!”
Women, be encouraged! God sees and knows and understands what you need. He doesn’t deal with us in the masses,
but comes to us individually. He stayed on the cross until every one of your sins was paid for. He will stay with you until
you recognize His glory and Presence in your life circumstances. He loves you!
Study notes:
1. God encourages and comforts us in His Word; in turn we can encourage and comfort someone else. Has God laid
someone on your heart you can encourage? Write down a scripture you can share with them:
________________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________________
2. How much of an encouragement is it to you to know 2 Kings 19:27? (These words were actually spoken to an evil
king; so be encouraged God knows where we're all going next!)
________________________________________________________________________________________________
3. Read the verses again in Ps 19 and be encouraged that even though we are faulty, His Word is perfect. Write the
verse that is most meaningful to you:

Run to God, flee to Him, take refuge under His wings; you will always find more there than you have ever before seen or
known. Ps 37:5: Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it and he will. (The verses given in
this study were taken from the Living Bible).
